AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like. OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Are you torn between which character to app? Let us help! Post your ideas in a comment and let fellow players offer feedback and CR ideas. You can also use this section to ask for canonmates you would like to see in-game whether it be in your specific AU or for different CR. |

I have no idea how she could have friends with a crossdressing detective-wannabe girl though... Naoto's too srs bsns for ~show biz~.
Maybe not nuclear family (I've established Naoto as an only child in her AU) but cousins perhaps?

cousins would be great!!! maki grew up really isolated from most people around her age so having family close to her in terms of age would help ground her a bit!! i also skimmed your app and though maki probs wouldn't know too much about it she'd super relate to naoto's desire to want to reinvent herself and go somewhere where no one knew her.

So I never really took the time to think about Naoto's family beyond Grandpa Shirogane > Her Mom & Dad > Her as the only child. Maybe Maki could be her family on her mom's side?
In that case she'd probably have known Naoto's true gender (since she only started presenting as male outwardly some time ago), even if they haven't been super close?

maki was probably way too wrapped up in her own show biz drama to properly connect with naoto or pry too much into her life but now that they're probably in school together she would likely make some kind of attempt to well, actually act like family.

Is she going to be a sophomore or a junior? If Naoto's a little older than her, she might have not paid much attention to her cousin's frivolous show-biz stuff, either.
But she's actually trying to connect with people now and not just throw up ridiculous emotional walls oops......
