Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU OCCUPATION: Tech support at a call center
BLURB:

- Comes from a family of German immigrants who are also military history nerds
- Got pushed into extracurriculars and clubs by her overbearing (but supportive) parents
- Totally got into fights throughout her pre-college education
- Moved to Recolle for college
- Dropped out after a couple of years when she realized she didn't have to study military history like her parents
- Doesn't talk to her parents anymore because she "betrayed the family" or something
- Worked a few odd jobs (the planetarium, the museum, the animal shelter)
- Has been at this call center for a few years now
- Has an absolutely perfect customer service voice but could not be more disaffected when off the clock
- Doesn't really talk to people outside of when she absolutely has to, including to work "friends"
- Knows she has a greater purpose but hasn't found it yet and doesn't know where to start
- Burns off that existential anxiety with gym visits and smoking, not usually both at once
- Hangs out in the woods when she needs to clear her head
- tl;dr: Gay dirtbag aggressively searching for something better in life than what she threw away

LOOKING FOR: Current or ex-coworkers, ex-classmates, dirtbag college kids who might be her neighbors (I do have a roommate situation tentatively sorted out), anyone who might recognize her by her voice, anyone who might try to forcefully befriend her only to get shut down. I haven't figured out where she moved from yet, so if you have any ideas for childhood friends (or "friends") she might run into several years down the line, I'm game for that, too.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: I'm solid on A2 but we'll see how this goes with all you lovely people, because I'm kind of easy to enable.

my other girl Gwen (Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere) is exactly the same in that on the musical theatre stage, she's incredibly expressive, but off the stage she has a bad case of resting bitch face. She's passionate about dance, though, so I think it'd be great to have these two be friends and have the contrast :3c

i am EXTREMELY interested in this, even though i know nothing about Odin Sphere i love the idea of Anna, like, begrudgingly tolerating Gwen's presence (which is basically friendship) and maybe trying to learn something about dance from her? because one of these days she's gotta find what she's looking for and who the hell knows, maybe it's dance.

Odin Sphere is a great game, please watch an LP of it or something if you have the time...! But yes, I think a friendship between them would be super fun. Gwen is very sweet and kind under all of her formal speech and rich girl mannerisms, and she could dance for hours if she could, so she'd have no problem with helping Anna out

I can offer a late 20s professional (Post Doc researcher) as possible CR. Kara's pretty easygoing outside of work, perhaps super chill gym buddy or something. Possibly former roommate, maybe sometimes silent coffee partner.

Super chill gym buddy and sometimes silent coffee partner sounds like a good time! As long as Kara understands that hey, a lot of the time Anna doesn't really want to get into her own personal garbage with somebody, Anna might enjoy just having somebody else to hang out with when she realizes she has to push herself to not be a weird hermit in the woods all the time.

Yeah that's basically Kara's entire relationship with her cousin and the Justice League. She gets it. It'll be chill.

this can DEFINITELY be arranged, she's probably put down a ton of notes on his contact card (for, uh, whatever kind of tech support she offers) and just rolls her eyes whenever she sees it's this idiot again. but she's gotta be professional and cheery and restore smiles!

and then of course the first time she hears his voice when she's not at work she loses it.

jasmine here is a couple of years younger and lived in the city her entire life, but they may have met as adults. her sister does volunteer with the animal shelter. and she LOVES talking to people about greater purposes.

at the very least, she's been dealing with stress lately by smoking in secret while still acting like she's 100% totally in control, nothing to see here, so they can always encounter each other on the run from "concerned" people trying to lecture them about the habit.

ALL ABOARD okay so like, for real, seeing that Recolle had a DoD3 cast is what got me interested in this game in the first place, and my initial plan was to bring Two here until i realized she is incredibly difficult to play and that's prooobably why you never see her

anyway, yes, i love the idea of the two of them running into each other and just smoking and rolling their eyes and complaining about people. they could probably make an actual friendship out of it, even though Anna definitely wouldn't call it that. she's keeping a lot of this greater purpose stuff real close to her chest for now but she'll be more willing to open up when she hits the network and realizes how much stuff there is out there. which probably means talking more with Jasmine while indulging in bad habits!

MAN I'D LOVE to have people bring in the younger, troubled sisters ESPECIALLY TWO BECAUSE I LOVE HER AND WANT HER TO BE HAPPY, but I totally get what you're saying. Two is so much energy and so much...potential bad crazy bad that it would be hard. I think for a lot of people in the cast so far our end goal for the characters is really 'eventually they just have to die.'

And it'll probably be nice for Jasmine to hang out with a cranky but ultimately good-hearted friend, since that's important and all girls need a grumpy friend! Maybe their work buildings ended up being kind of close to each other or something and that's how they ended up there.

so a2 is a few years older than him but gladio could have run into her at recolle u at some point, maybe shared a gen ed class or something???

OR since he frequents the gym and she hangs out there sometimes he could be one of those annoying dudes that tries to fucking strike up conversation while youre just TRYIN TO GET YOUR TREADMILL ON, DUDE, COME ON

either way i essentially want him to try to annoy her into friendship because. i love a2 and i need cr with her one way or another

god she would be UNABLE to tolerate him if he were the kind of person to just walk up to her while she's got her headphones very clearly in and she's trying to do stuff.

i love it. i absolutely love it, let's make it happen. she's only good at like a few things at the gym because she takes terrible care of her body otherwise so it's not like she's gonna shake up her routine to try to lose him or anything.

I'm down for Astolfo to know her in passing if they live in the same apartment complex or something, though he probably lives close to campus if not on it. That or they go to the same gym.

If they live in the same building then she probably knows Astolfo as "that kid that's way too happy about whatever the hell is going on in their life" regardless of what Astolfo thinks of her, which is always a good and friendly first impression to have of someone.
