Mana Aida | Dokidoki! Precure

BLURB:

Mana Aida is a selfless hero in every sense of the word - kind and brave, with a loving heart and the ability to back up her desire to help people everywhere. Besides being the leader of a group of magical girls fighting demonic villains from worlds beyond, Mana doesn't stop there - she's deeply involved in school activities and acts as the student council president. Very athletic, she's frequently recruited by various school teams to pitch in, and does well in both motivating the student body and mediating problems, sometimes to the detriment of her own well being, almost always putting others before her. She's propped up in many ways by her friends, particularly childhood friends Rikka Hishikawa and Alice Yotsuba. Her spunky, overly enthusiastic nature can be as much a detriment to her as it is a boon, but she's here to help!

Maya is a different kettle of fish, yet still mirroring her original self in various ways. Here, she's 17 years old in high school. Her parents are successful and well off - her father an accountant, and her mother a lawyer. That leaves her with kind of an expected path to follow, a future asking her to step up and be a responsible, impactful member of society.

Maya brushes against that more than a little bit. She finds the prospect stifling, and the lack of freedom in her own destiny ruffles her feathers. Things come fairly easy to her, like Mana she's good at sports, popular with her peers, a loud and vibrant presence in any room. She wants to enjoy being herself rather than making her life about being stuffed in a suit to make money.

Unlike Mana however, she isn't nearly as selfless. She's more prone to wants for her own benefit, she has no desire towards driving the student body in any particular direction. She's driven far more by an ego born of her fairly easy life and ability - she's not necessarily mean, she could happily help people out if need be, but it's not something she seeks. Still, she's definitely got a more selfish streak in her than Mana ever did, and it would be much easier to come across as a bit of an ass once in awhile. Given Mana's nature, this is prone to mess with her more than a little bit in time once more is remembered. Whether or not that Mana being an objectively better person encourages or discourages her all kind of is up in the air depending on how the cards fall in certain aspects.

Let's not forget: Mana Aida was Cure Heart, a magical girl capable of holding a Godzilla-sized monster at bay from crushing her. Depending on what point this sort of thing is regained, she's liable to revel in it.
LOOKING FOR: Friends! Classmates! People to help punch things with when magical girl happenings become a thing.

But in general I'm interested in seeing how these two play off each other, not knowing one another initially. I'm really interested in exploring that.
