I'm not sure about how detailed I want to be with her parents or anything, but Pearl has essentially been pushed to be as perfect as possible all her life. From ballet class when she was younger to her school work, she hasn't had a lot of time to really experience the fun stuff in life. Her parents made some big money, so she was afforded every resource possible that would lead her to succeed in perfection, beauty, grace and manners. Essentially it's a modernized version of living a old-timey socialite life.

This makes her a kind of stick-up-the-ass uptight adult who also sort of projects this onto most others, and she sees messiness and imperfection as something of an eyesore. Still, it's not polite to be ugly about it -- but that doesn't stop her from being strict or rude.

However, this does help her at her job as a ballet instructor. She didn't make it to be prima or anything, but she was successful enough to be featured in some small ballet performances in theaters and clubs in the area.

It's also not to say she doesn't see other students who want to succeed as those to help and she has a motherly side towards kiddos and teens who want to do better and try their hardest. She's a task master, though, so get your shit together.

Pearl attended college and majored in the Fine Arts and Minored in Engineering (which sounds odd but they're both her fortes).

She's in her mid 20s, from 24-26. She's got her own place, living her own life and it's kind of lonely. Her social skills have kind of kept her from getting close to many people, and she's definitely a person that takes some getting used to. This also makes attracting potential girlfriends very hard because she's kind of high maintenance and latches on to people who put up with her.

Pearl is also a fan of fencing and takes classes on weekends.

Like in the actual show, Pearl is put together and supposedly a perfectionist but in reality she's far from perfect in some very basic areas. I want to flesh this out more, but here are the details I've got down thus far. If and when I app, expect this to be more detailed and not a quickly rushed list format aslkdas

LOOKING FOR: Anyone!! Students, friends, romantic interests, etc!! I know that's pretty generic, but the truth is that I would love people who would be willing to put up with her or help her grow out of her very hardened bubble of a lifestyle.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: I play a lot of obscure people + LCWs so this is useless but I wanna play a dude too!!

I AM NOT QUITE SURE how to throw these two together, since peridot is still a college student BUT if pearl is ever around campus they could possibly meet there? SHE'S DEFINITELY A TEEN WHO TRIES HER HARDEST even if...she already thinks she's the best at everything.....

Like the Peridot, I got no idea how to get the gems near each other in the AU for shenanigans but maybe... idk, Lapis is a student of Pearls, because dancing yes.

Yeah, I feel you on that. I like the idea of student Lapis, dancing is always a good idea. Hypothetically, would you like their relationship to mirror canon somehow ie disdain > warming up?

First of all I actually really like this spin on Pearl a lot. I think it's a really great start and I'm excited to see how this gets fleshed out a little more if you app!

Secondly!! Luke's AU slots him as being from an upperclass family, but he's also a fencer and was on his high school's fencing team and probably still does it on and off in his spare time. He might show up to a class or two whenever he feels like it so they could potentially bump into each other that way? They're also fairly close in age (he's 23) so they could be on par with knowing each other from school or something prior to Luke dropping out of college. He's someone that has a lot of charisma and social graces while also being kind of stubborn and a little bratty, so he wouldn't be too deterred by Pearl's demeanor and would probably keep bothering her if he found her interesting.

All of that aside, like I said I'm excited to see how this grows if you decide to app because it's very easy to see canon Pearl blended with an AU Pearl and it's a fun interpretation.

Aww, thank you! This was thrown together super quick so I've got some stuff to do, but I'm glad you like it!

I definitely like what you're offering and we can make it work no problem. The age isn't that off so it would def make sense they may have gone to school together, so if he attends a fencing class then she can recognize him visually or vaguely (Oh, that one person in Calc, etc).

In canon Anya's an idol who would take lessons and whatnot for her idol work so I do want her to have some sort of fundamental artsy background, so she could be one of Pearl's students? who tries very hard and tries to follow Pearl's perfectionist tendencies but lacks any real ambition of her own except to try to meet her teacher's expectations?

I would love that! Pearl will want her to be a bit more ambitious, but she'll recognize the talent is there. It will just make her want to do even better!!!

If you do app Pearl, may I interest you in employing Pearl at a certain dance studio? Viktor is a choreographer in this AU and he's also in charge of hiring people there... He'd love to have a good ballet instructor! And it would be a good excuse for CR between dancers at the very least

I love this take on Pearl! Sorey here takes swordfighting/kendo classes in his spare time, and he's about 20 -- I'd love to have them know each other! He also is a bit of a history/archaeology nerd (that's his major) so they might have some shared interest in art history, too.

ahhh hello Sorey my darling archaeology child. Pearl is definitely interested in sword fighting and all related mediums, and yeah she likes facts and figures so art + history...she's into that. History in general; she's a rolodex of neat and useless trivia and history falls into that chatterbox category.
