CHARACTER: Makishima Yusuke
CANON: Yowamushi Pedal
BLURB:

☑ 22-25 years old
☑ Born to an American mother and Japanese father, has an older brother named Ren and a younger sister named Yuka
☑ Because of his family's wealth he's always had plenty of funds to pretty much support himself without ever getting a job, so he has kind of a spoiled mentality about certain things and has no problems with spending money
☑ Pretty much fell in love with fashion at a very young age, specifically when his brother Ren started to show an interest in it and would show him his drawings and concepts and he was always just so wide-eyed and amazed at it all because COLORS!! SHAPES!! PRETTY PATTERNS!!
☑ Because his brother was the more outgoing and sociable son Makishima didn't think he had what it took to actually get into fashion as he was always more awkward and antisocial, though he constantly spent his time sketching and sewing and paying attention to the latest trends and wishing he could come up with something far better. Also even though personality-wise he is a bit of a wallflower he has a very LOUD appearance (loves to wear bizarre, eccentric outfits and dyes his hair green and red)
☑ His brother moved to England to pursue his own career as a designer and during Makishima's last year of high school he invites him over to help him see if he can get a start on his own career
☑ UH honestly I would love for Makishima to either become a fashion designer or a lingerie designer (because he's also always adored gravure). Also if I go the lingerie route he very commonly models his own creations because he took modeling lessons under his brother's persuasion because he has such a slim and feminine-looking body that makes his stuff really POP
☑ If there's anything he loves more than his career it's his afghan hound Josephine and making snoods for her

LOOKING FOR: Old high school friends, people who are fans of his fashion or recognize his brother's clothing... if I go the lingerie route then people who actually wear his stuff or recognize his modeling HAHA
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Heavily considering Reaper/Gabriel Reyes from Overwatch and kinda got some ideas for Roronoa Zoro or Sanji from One Piece, Ichimatsu Matsuno from Osomatsu-san, and Nanu or Hau from Pokemon Sun/Moon

SLIDES IN REAL FAST except the only thing I do is threaten you with "Midousuji models his stuff"

INSTEAD I'd really love to find a way for these two to be connected through ~~the canon string of fate~~ some oddball circumstances, but I just don't know what. Do you think Makishima might like to frequent any particular type of shop? A coffee shop or a clothing store that they could have in common? (Although Midousuji has an eccentric taste in fashion but it's not quite like Makishima's, I don't think... It's more skulls, dark colors and chains but there's a taste for asymmetry there.) HRM.

I was put into such agony over this suggestion that I almost banned your journal. SEE WHAT YOU DO, PRINCE. See what happens when you try to unleash sexy lizard into the world???

But yo I had the exact same thought because I need me lizard CR and I thought it'd be kinda neat if they could bond over music? Makishima living in England for a while would definitely affect what he listens to and he'd probably really end up into lots of English rock. His guilty pleasure and one of his inspirations would totally be old English glam rock. :3c

Maybe that means I should ABSOLUTELY have it happen, to disgust myself and those around me. Unleash him. Model Midousuji was a thought, you know. A horrible thought, I acknowledge, but it happened.

THAT'S A THOUGHT THOUGH, having them relate to each other in tastes in music. Makishima traveling from England could be of interest to him for the sake of music, which Midousuji listens to a lot. I wouldn't consider him one to care about keeping up with musicians, but good music is good music and he'll take it. Perhaps, then, Midousuji could recognize it as an inspiration of his and even develop an appreciation for his work (sometimes, and in the most backwards way possible).

jsyk I just googled lizard lingerie and I do not know if I'm relieved or disappointed at the lack of results I thought there'd be. Maybe this is a sign, this is the niche Mido must now fulfill in his life. Doctor by day, model by night!!

Just imagine them in a coffee shop at some point and one of them is listening to music far too loud in their headphones and the other recognizes it, either Midousuji can think "what is this gross person doing listening to my band??" or Maki wondering "I had no idea anyone in Japan would enjoy that person" and they strike up odd conversation.............. terrible, terrible attempt at conversation, the best they could manage.

ALSO in case that doesn't work out for now because hhh I'm getting tempted to try out Ichimatsu here first who I've never gotten a chance to play but always wanted to give a shot, Ichi could be a patient of Midousuji's! He'd have a habit of not caring much about his health because he cares too damn much about his dozens of cats, some of which are either shelter animals or legit strays off the street. |D He'd also have some issues with depression which is just kinda....... forever his thing.

It's like that really famous photoshoot of the woman being coiled by a snake except it's Midousuji, sultry and dressed in weird lingerie designed by Makishima and covered in lizards

Or he's just the weird lizard at the shoot. These things happen. I hate this too much to continue the thought.

I'm sure it would be awkward since that's both of them, but at least it's neutral-positive ground! Sometimes one finds solace in finding somebody else who doesn't really fit in, I suppose.

I SEE THAT THOUGH, and I would be totally there for Ichimatsu too. My idea so far is that Midousuji isn't quite a doctor yet, being that he's only concurrently taking uni classes while completing high school and has ambition to become a doctor. (I'm still toying with my AU ideas though.) But something I wanted him to do at some point to ring true to his status as an antagonist is to end up practicing in secret without actually having the certification to do so. If Ichimatsu was reluctant/apathetic enough to wind up not seeing a doctor and found himself in a bad way for whatever reason, Midousuji would certainly be the type to come across him by chance, then view him as a practice patient while offering care for free in exchange.

Another interesting tidbit: Midousuji and Jyushimatsu might be living in the same apartment complex? So there's that.

These two weirdos somehow finding common ground in being really outside of the box is always something i've been interested in so if I can manage a second character then I def would love to explore that sort of relationship with Maki and Mido!!

aah ok that makes sense and I just recalled that Mido will still be younger, that's what I get to replying to things at such a late hour ?_? but yes something like the two sort of... exploiting each other for their own benefits would actually sound completely reasonable to me. these two are so terrible

oh my god Mido living in vicinity of Jyushi, i do not know who to feel more sorry for. ...probably Mido because Jyushi has no social reference to speak of he is just Himself. please don't hurt him lizard man he is just a simple overly excitable soul that loves baseball a lot

-Okay, okay. Now that that's over! It looks like Makishima and Jyushimatsu are about the same age. Maybe they could be old school friends? Jyushimatsu's ugly pug, Hijirisawa PUGnosuke could have a crush on the stylish Josephine.

Too bad Jyushimatsu, now you know how Ichimatsu feels every waking moment of every day.

Oh my god tiny pug having a crush on this giant majestic dog, that sounds so adorable. Makishima would be so aghast but I could see him being appreciative of knowing someone like Jyushi who is just so lively and outgoing and sort of the complete opposite of him ;u;

seriously though, I love that that's Ichimatsu's idea of perfection. lots of cats, a job that involves cats, and his own apartment. it suits him so well.

and lol. no wonder he'd have a breakdown. he'll just be at home one day, feeding his cats when BAM-! random memory regain of attempting to poop on a Starbucks table.))

Hehe, they might actually end up being good influences on one another. Whatever career-path you choose for Makishima, Jyushi will definitely be there to cheer him on and tell him he looks good in fancy underwear.
