JANUARY AU WORKSHOP
AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. CHARACTER: CANON: BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; your character's age, occupation, name, hobbies - that sort of thing! Just let us know what you have. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like. OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Are you torn between which character to app? Let us help! Post your ideas in a comment and let fellow players offer feedback and CR ideas. You can also use this section to ask for canonmates you would like to see in-game whether it be in your specific AU or for different CR. |
Kerry Weaver | ER
CANON: ER
BLURB: Kerry is between 35-40 years old and moved to Recolle from a small midwest town in search of
adventurea career. She's an only child, and her parents are aging, but in good health. She uses a crutch on her right side to compensate for congenital hip dysplasia.Kerry is ragingly ambitious and driven, like seriously don't get between her and something she wants because she will throw you under the bus and not even flinch. This, and her love of inane administrative details, makes her somewhat difficult to deal with and not very popular with her coworkers a lot of the time. Despite this, however, she's also deeply compassionate and genuinely concerned for the well-being of vulnerable people - her default setting is "prickly", but if she knows someone is hurting she wants to help. She might make controversial decisions sometimes, but they're almost always made because she thinks they're truly the best thing for the people under her care.
Regarding her job in Recolle I'm undecided just yet - in canon she's a doctor (specifically, the Chief of Emergency Medicine for a large urban trauma center), but I thought it might be interesting to place her in some other career and have her gradually remember doctor-y things as the game progresses. She would be drawn toward a professional career that would challenge and validate her, something toward which she could apply her fierce intellect, ambition, and innate sense of compassion - something in social work or the judicial system? Maybe a college professor or school counselor? I'm open to suggestions!
LOOKING FOR: Aaaanything? A lot of her CR will probably be on the negative side because she's such a...delightful person to interact with. Coworkers would probably be her primary social links. Other mature professionals for her to chat with would be great, and she would also probably make a good mentor-type to a younger person provided they can handle her. Romantically she's at a sort of exploratory stage where she's just realizing she has a thing for the ladies, if you want an awkward closeted lesbian trying to figure out feeeeelings.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Depending on how workshop stuff pans out I might hold off on apping Weaver until next round since she's a little rusty and I could use the time to canon review her. I'm also thinking of apping an anime whom I'm more experienced with playing.

no but seriously pester this metal-head amputee drummer and if she is lucky Yang can help with some of those feelings in terms of what to AVOID when seeking relationships (even if her default answer to that is: "don't." "don't what?" "anything. just don't.")
