I mean just as a personal character trait, canonically he tends to pride himself on competence and efficiency in everything he does, and that's going to carry over into Recollé as well. The primary thing is that "everything he does" here is...decidedly less insane than it was in canon.

So that actually works in everyone's favor, from the sound of it. He's also got less of a stick up his ass here given that he's taking things a little slower and not pursuing a bunch of increasingly insane goals, so if Derek wants drinks sometime then he wouldn't be opposed.
