AU WORKSHOP - OCTOBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World changes FAQ • As per our game-wide poll, we will be holding an application round in October and in November! After that, apps will resume their bi-monthly schedule. The game calendar has now been updated with the dates for this. • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Starting as not friends sounds fine by me! She doesn't stray too far from the bar most of the time since it's her business, but everyone is welcome there. Firefighters are people she admires, so Freya might get a free drink or so on occasion because dangerous profession.

He also would have been around to see Theo take on his more pleasant actor persona on the odd occasions in which they met up, going from the sullen kid who kinda hates everything because his parents are dead and his siblings are gone to Smiley McGee making friends with execs please give him jobs and money

I thiiiiink it'd be normally pretty difficult to tell his identity when he's going around incognito since it's so different from his appearance and presentation as Kestrel Blade but since Nazuna knew him when he was a sullen child and he is in fact still kind of a grouch when he's not pretending otherwise, Nazuna might actually clue in sooner than most other people o:

But also!! Since Nazuna's younger than him and they do have that connection from his acting days, he might also help lowkey look out for him still because... the big brother instinct in this guy is Too Strong. Whether or not that extended in any way to their acting days is up to you, Theo wouldn't have stuck his neck out too much but he's the type who definitely tries to help people in subtle ways that they aren't necessarily going to notice, like keeping in touch to vent to about shitty manager things or whatever.

Aerith Gainsborough | Final Fantasy VII

CHARACTER: Aerith Gainsborough.

AU NAME: Aerith Gainsborough.
AU AGE: Twenty-five.
AU OCCUPATION: I'm thinking a social worker who deals specifically with children. She's fairly new to the work force having gradated not that long ago, but it's something she's truly passionate about. Maybe has a small office in the Recollé Office of Child & Family Service building? A new hire somewhere where she's getting (annoyingly) underfoot? Open to any and all suggestions!

BLURB:
- Born to a mother who had no need or want for a child, Aerith suffered until a concerned new neighbor alerted the police that a baby had been crying in the next apartment over for hours upon hours. She was found dirty, alone and starving in her crib. She was hospitalized until she was a healthy weight and then entered Foster Care.

- Was adopted when she was five years old, into a small lonely house where it was just her and her parents. Aerith, used to being around lots of other children found herself totally lost now that she was on her own. School filled the void though, and she threw herself into everything it had to offer.

- Even though she wasn't particularly athletic Aerith tried to do a bit of everything in school, but in the end she settled for volunteering after school instead of sports or clubs. Right through to high school she volunteered at the local orphanages/food kitchens/hospitals/animal shelters doing whatever she could to help out.

- She went into university for social work and continued to volunteer as much as she was able but with classes and exams and a new burgeoning social life the volunteering fell to the wayside a little. She graduated near the top of her class and immediately dove into finding work.

- Aerith is a complicated person, but she strives to appear as uncomplicated as possible. She always has a smile and a helping hand to lend, especially if you seem like you need help. She has a bit of a hero complex, and it's gotten her in trouble more than once...maybe even more than twice. But her own experiences and what she's seen countless people go through have left her jaded. She's still trying to work out her place in life, and find family (who care about her) and friends to share it with. If you need help, she'll do everything in her power to make sure you get it.

LOOKING FOR: People that she went to school with, and people from all the places that she volunteers/volunteered at! She isn't too close to her parents and doesn't have any adopted family, but I'm all up for her failure of a mother to have had other children! Really looking for people that she's working with now...especially the type that doesn't mind her following like a duckling as she learns. And...university crushes/buddies/study buddies are all awesome as well! Throw whatever at us, we'll figure it out!!

That timeline works for me!

I think Foggy's end of their weird pseudo relationship went something like this: Initially he just gets caught up in the childish excitement of it being a secret and it's fun. He always felt attracted to Dean so victory right? Then the confusion and frustration starts to settle in. He starts to wonder if this relationship is on the path to love or if they're just a couple of horny confused pals. He already keeps secrets for Dean, he doesn't want to ruin the idealized image Nattie has of him for example, but he realizes he doesn't like the idea of being with someone he can't even go out with, if he can even rightly say that they're "together." Between Dean needing money and a job, his lack of a clear goal or direction, his addiction, and him not even being out of the closet, he's just plain not boyfriend material the way he is. As much as Foggy finds that he likes several qualities that Dean possesses in a partner, he concludes that they're better off as friends WITHOUT benefits. So Foggy returns to the dating scene and (I'm guessing?) things smooth out between him and Dean by the time Dean goes into the military. Regardless of the past Dean can count on Foggy to have his back and you can bet he'll be routing for him to find the right person at the right time. He will SO have a word with the girl or guy that hurts him!

Kamui can take daddy with him. That way he can still pine for his mommy in the AU. Definitely frequent play dates. Except for that one year Kamui was in juvenile detention. Those visits would have been... interesting.

Pfff, whichever way works for you honestly. I say Kamui takes his mom's last name even though he lives with dad because blatantly picking a favorite parent is the best way to foster a happy family life.

Fai here is a social worker! He's been doing this for three or four years now so he's not exactly a veteran, but depending on how long Aerith's been in the office she could either tag along with him sometimes or they could just be friendly co-workers!

i wish i could say that clover would icly suggest activities that could break up friendships like a super smash bro or mario kart tournament but she won't since she doesn't know much about video games

she'd suggest things like speed friending, painting/coloring/crafts to destress, boardgames/cah, murder mystery (dinner), movie nights, door decorating contests for different seasons or holidays (prizes??? idk prizes)

someone else will have to suggest things like cupcake bar/waffle bar/midnight breakfast/mocktail night that will surely not be mock by the end of the night, etc because clover likes to be health conscious about food and promote balanced meals
