( really, he's as invested in tori as it is a crutch. that he cares for tori deeply and wants to ascertain the nature of tori's caretaker is genuine and true, but it also gives him other matters to focus on.

it's not as if he can say he feels anything particularly tangible toward the wataru of his memories besides a fevered increase in heartbeat, and even then there's no reasons behind it - nothing sensible such as, "he was kind to me and my past self valued that," or something; only foolish, thoughtless fancy. there is then very little reason for him to levy that unto the wataru here and now - this senseless and baseless attraction that, however faint, still rubs him red like an irritant. he can't very well take issue with leo and ritsu if he's going to do the same. )

You're not terribly humble, are you? ( fufu ) I'd be very much happy to take you up on that offer ♪ If your pastries are enough to sate Tori in place of sweets, they really must be to die for.

Still, you tutor; you teach; you bake . . . I'll tell Tori to praise you a little bit more; it's rare to find a caretaker who's of so many talents ♪

( though the mention of france reminds him wataru doesn't seem to have used french in awhile . . . ah, he wonders if he's off-put him too much with his talks of god? hm hm, a likely possibility, miai assumes. )
