III.
[Amelia had no time for games. But this amusement park was currently the only place there was to go in order to leave. She ignored the game stalls and the rides, and sniffed dismissively at the food. Far too crass for her taste, and anything with a Retrospec brand near it seemed automatically suspicious.

But the next time she passed a sign with the Retrospec logo on it, she stopped, frowning.

IV.

[The older woman was puzzled. Standing on a pathway--and beside a much blockier, unfinished one, like someone had started to draw it and grew dissatisfied with the design. But instead of keeping the idea to paper, it had been made out of blocks pieced seamlessly together, floating three feet off the ground, with absolutely nothing holding it up. Its edge didn't end in gravel or cracked pavement--it simply ended, as if each block had been neatly sheared away.

This distresses the architect.

What could possibly be holding this up?

[She's incredulous, and skeptical, and reaching out to tap on the blocks with her knuckles.]
