Why not? Not all poems need to be subtle nor hold abstract thinking. I believe the best poems are the ones with a message that can be understood or relatable.

He offered her a great deal of effort to make his feelings known. He was a good person, in her eyes. She could tell he didn't hold himself in the same esteem, so she was going to do it in his stead.
All the more reason to believe in his word concerning his experience, it didn't seem like he was trying to tell her a dream he had, since he was the type to easily fall into daydreams. His tone of voice in explaining the situation sounded quiet dire until he made his proclamation. Needless to say it was enough to lift her mood.]
