but yeah let's talk about the dynamic! Violet obviously isn't... living her life in a very Clover-approved (or anyone-approved) way at the moment, or ever, so that's probably a source of some friction.
I'm imagining the kind of relationship where, any time Clover's saying something Violet doesn't want to hear (either because it's critical of her or because it seems boring to her), she starts tuning her out within a few seconds (often accompanied by either starting to do something else, or just wandering off)?? Which is obviously Very Rude. But then, every once in a while, days/weeks/years later, she'll make an offhand reference to something Clover said or did in the midst of a tune-out, raising the question of whether she was secretly paying attention?? At the same time, she completely forgets anywhere from 10 to 40% of the things they discuss during perfectly friendly/interesting conversations.
