Thank you. lol I guess there were a bunch of different universes that got destroyed by something or other, but there were still bits floating around, and some of the bits were our souls, and some people managed to scoop them up and put them here. Gradually, the memories and phenomena and possessions of the versions of ourselves who inhabited those destroyed universes come back to us, and it's very disorienting but possibly enables the lost universe to be revived or something. But whatever caused all the universes to be destroyed (I think? or maybe it's a separate entity or force or whatever?) also has a severe destabilizing effect on this world, which causes various kinds of bizarre occurrences... like everything disappearing unless we paint it with magic paint... and fruit wiggling and having faces and things. An organization called Retrospec works to keep things from going too far off the rails (I guess?), and the app of the same name allows people with soul fragments from other universes or whatever to like and share each other's posts.
