More or less, but it's a little more complicated than that. Apparently we're originally from all kinds of different worlds, and then those worlds all got destroyed, but there were bits of our souls left over (???) that they (???) were able to save and bring here (???). And gradually we regain that connection to the person we used to be in that other world, and it's somehow related to having access to the app. And also sometimes bizarre things happen for no reason.
