[It turns out that Cloud had no reason to worry about colliding with the mountain, at least not the part he was expecting to hit. He couldn't spare the breath it would have cost him to yelp in surprise, he had to put all his focus into figuring out how to land in one piece. The initial throwing force had knocked Cloud's snowboard right out of his grip, so at least he didn't have to worry about that?
Overshooting the mark by about a factor of five, Cloud ended up smacking against the side of the mountain overlooking a switchback. He tumble-slid a few feet onto a path in a heap, knocking down a considerable amount of snow in the process.
