Certain poets would disagree, and say that the pages of a book are leaves of their own kind.

[Like the Antebellum poet Walt Whitman, whose famed Leaves of Grass went through multiple revisions and editions after it's initial publishing in 1850... but that was for literature majors to argue about, not a librarian and...]
