BLURB: - born on an American naval base in Spain--lived there until he was 10 and moved back to America with his family following his father retiring from the Navy. - did alright in high school, later went to college to try and be a marine biologist--school wasn't working for him, though, and he wound up dropping out to do more hands-on work with a family friend in the marine salvage industry. soon after got his diver's certification, wound up working full time, and genuinely loved it. - took over the salvage business in everything but name once his 'uncle' got too old to keep diving, and got it in full following the man's passing. sunk the next decade and a half of his life into the job, as well as learning how to properly handle the preservation aspect of the job. - aforementioned preservation efforts wound up leading to him helping found the Protector Program, an organization trying to preserve historical shipwrecks and the like while documenting them as thoroughly as possible. for the years the program was around, he worked closely with museums and historians in order to come up with the best ways to maintain the sites while still being able to go in and investigate them firsthand with dives. - was forced to pull out of the salvage business temporarily after his flagship got wrecked by a sudden storm, which cost him a lot of his equipment as well--moved back inland for a while, which he insisted was just until he got things sorted out, and was basically a ball of stress for like a year and a half. things didn't go as planned, and after a bunch of setbacks and financial issues, he sort of inadvertently gave up. if you ask him, he'll still say he's working on it, though. maybe don't ask, he's a little bitter about it. - moved into Recolle, and now works as a boat mechanic on Peach Beach. seems a little discontent with the job, although he's settled for it. he does swimming lessons part-time, and can be convinced to do diving lessons as well. - has a tendency to lowkey take people under his wing if they're in a bad place, and does his best to help them get back on their feet/into more stable situations. he's like a semi-awkward dad friend who worries too much about other people, and really just wants to make sure everybody winds up okay. he stress bakes, and considering the fact that he's always sort of stressed, well. there's a lot of snacks to go around.
