the older boys are TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL!! but yeah, the more chiyo would've tried to keep in touch, the more sakichi would've figured that he was important to her, so he would've been consistent about responding to her, updating her about life, and so on.
RE: ART... again, his facial expressions kind of range from angry to neutral, with actual smiles like unicorns in sky, so he would've evaluated her art with a pretty neutral expression at all times... BUT he always means what he says, so he would've been honest about thinking she was improving and encouraged her to keep going!
in chiyo's case, sakichi wouldn't see her as annoying or a hindrance! i like to think they'd have the kind of relationship that stays comfortable regardless of how long it's been since they've seen each other... sakichi is a stable soul and probably would've had the same essence as a youngster as he does now. i hope that makes sense?!
