Parents died when he was too young to really have much of a solid memory formed of them (age 4), when he went to live with his fairly eccentric, wealthy grandfather in Recolle.
Bit on the anti-social side, in that he's friendly enough, but he's a little odd. Manners don't always come first and foremost, and he comes across as having his head in the clouds, or being distracted by things on his mind. Which he usually is. Especially lately.
He spent most of his childhood homeschooled/with private tutors, so he never really "had friends" or "graduated high school" but he tested into his GED, nailed the SATs and wound up enrolling in university courses in his mid-teens. Bachelor's degree by age 18 in sociology and political science. What are you going to do with that degree? Stay in school, that's what. Masters degree by age twenty-one. Four years later and he's right smack in the middle of working on his PhD dissertation and becoming a professional insomniac. WHO NEEDS SLEEP ANYWAY. THESES DON'T WRITE THEMSELVES.
So now he's a teacher/student wandering the halls like a zombie craving caffeine and sugar at all times.
He'll retain several of the habits of his canon self -- his obsessive sweet tooth and his absolute disdain for shoes. Damn toe prisons.
Also as a hobby/side hustle, he writes short murder-mystery stories, a few he's managed to get published in little periodic collections here and there, and online. They're kind of morbid. Makes you wonder about the guy, you know? Currently he's on a break from that because school is crushing him like the gravity of a supermassive black hole.
